Thorns Start Season in Full Bloom

For the Portland Thorns, all buds are blooming. Soccer City USA has an NWSL team fresh off a championship and after their first 2 games of the regular season are on top of the league.

Forward Sophia Smith 2022 NWSL MVP and the Thorns top all the positive stat lists confirming ambitions to win more trophies. With a large list of world cup roster athletes even Portland’s bench and draft picks show great skill and promise.

With global Talent from the USA, Costa Rica, Finland, Japan, and more it’s no wonder the fans pack into Providence Park. With an accumulation of 8 goals in 2 games the “beautiful game” is holding true. The goals have come thick, fast, and creative.

Even the fanbase, the Rose City Riveters, was in full force showing artistic and vocal support in the “Goose Hollow”. Passionately urging their team on, the drums and songs of the North End build an enlightened atmosphere.

The Thorns next game is in front of the home fans at Providence Park, Friday, April 14th at 7:30 pm PST.
