Many have no idea what teqball even is., it’s a sport that’s played in all parts of the world.
Played by both men and women, with some quick easy rules to remember, 3 touches between the two players, a table and a wide space to catch those famous table smashes.
This sport originated from Hungary 2014 and has grown since it was brought to the US in 2019
The teqball tour 2022 consists of going around Big city’s in the US, players from across the country have come to play, Brazil, Serbia, Colombia, Romania, France and many others just to name a few.
This international sport had two finals to host today at the Long Beach Convention Center August 26-28 and an attendance of Ambassadors, Carli Lloyd former USWNT player World Cup Champions was at the event. After spending the entire weekend playing to qualify the Romanian and the Hungarian in the mens final and the Serbians verses our very own USA wonen, Carol Greco and Margi Osmunduson
“ We’ve been playing for many years together, 10 years and now champs once more after taking the Europe tour final. “ But with out a doubt the chemistry these two have is incredible, they won back to back, there was no doubt that the momentum that they lost would set things back for them in the second set. “ I trained with them before the tournament and I knew that we had them and very confidently I knew we were going to come back,” said Greco after the final
In a very intense match against the amazing Brazilian women’s team, the home team lost in the first set 12-5 then coming back strong in the second set 12-9 beating them in an intense third set.
The Match that took on a rally up to 45 seconds with lots of technique and calmness from both teams.
Making it a tie and moving on to the third set, 14-12 in a difficult last point match decision, that the Brazilians fought for but it just wasn’t enough to get the referees to challenge the play. As the USA took the cup once more in the US Tour.
The mens finals took place, and with quick easy 2 set matches, the Hungarian World Champions Csaba Banyik, and Katz Balász took both sets 12-5,12-6 against the remarkable talented, Romanians, Györgydeák Apor and Ilyés Szabolocs .
Teqball a sport that continues to grow here in the United States and across the world.
