After the loss of the city’s American football team the Rams, St. Louis welcomed their new MLS team with a sellout crowd on March 25 at Saint Louis Universities Hermann Stadium. The game kicked off the MLS NEXT PRO season across the league.

This is not the MLS team St. Louis will see next year when St. Louis officially joins the MLS 2023 expansion. The current team is part of the MLS development team consisting of 21 teams, with only one team not directly feeding into an MLS team.

City 2 faced Rochester New York on March 25, 2022.

In the 19th minute, Wan Kuzain netted City 2’s first goal of the season. The goal would be the only goal of the first half.

Then in the 60th minute, Vitor Dias netted the second goal off a penalty kick for City 2, putting City over Rochester by two.

In the next 30 minutes of regulation, Rochester didn’t have an answer for City.
