Laura Harvey’s squad is back home with a 1-0 victory in another NWSL round against San Diego Wave on Saturday, April 15, at Lumen Field in Seattle, WA. Olivia Van der Jagt scored a “golazo” in stoppage time.

The Seattle team started the match on fire, showing good plays and putting pressure on the Wave’s defense with the skillful Fishlock, Huerta, and King. However, luckily for the opponents, Reign did not score.

Defensively, The Bold was also safe with Lauren Barnes, who blocked Alex Morgan in the area, in a good moment for the visitors.

Afterward, the match was balanced. Therefore, without great opportunities for the teams, the score was scoreless until the break.

The second half started better for Wave, and Phallon Tullis-Joyce had to stay alert to prevent the visitors from scoring. In one of the best chances of the game, Alex Morgan left-footed, and Phallon blocked. Then, after the rebound, Amirah Ali received the ball, and the goalkeeper managed to save once more.

Later, Laura Harvey chose Megan Rapinoe to enter the field, and they created more opportunities. One of those was in a free-kick – Sheridan stretched herself and sent it to the corner. After the set piece, at stoppage time, Olivia Van der Jagt right-footed from outside the area and scored the winning goal to get three points.

The Challenge Cup is about to start, and the next and first OL Reign match in this competition will be against Angel City on Wednesday, April 19, at 10 PM ET. Meanwhile, on the same day and at 10 PM ET, San Diego Wave will take on Portland Thorns.
