LA Galaxy takes on Austin FC one of the newest teams in the MLS, at the Dignity Health Sports Park, Carson, Los Angles California, chilly Saturday night Galaxy (0-4-3, 3 points) took on Austin FC (2-3-2, 8 points) this game also marked fifth regular-season meeting between the two clubs, with the Galaxy leading the all-time series 3-1-0.
In two matches played at home against Austin, LA holds an unbeaten record of 2-0-0 (6 GF, 1 GA). In the last meeting between the two teams at Dignity Health Sports Park, the Galaxy earned a 4-1 win over Austin on May 29, 2022, with LA Galaxy forward Dejan Joveljić becoming the first player in MLS history to contribute to four goals (2 goals, 2 assists) as a substitute in a single match.
This time statistics motivated today’s win, Galaxy was excited with the 2-0 against Austin FC The game began slow but Austin remained a consistent rival that never ceased to cut short on us, they fought till the line and we’re confident they could pull it off.
LA Galaxy came forward with the reassurance that the second half would be much more of an execution style with the first goal coming in at the 53’ minute by no other than Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez. Leading Galaxy 1-0
The fans began finally accepting that maybe they did need to be there for the team during all moments good or bad because the objective is to win whether the fans make it out or not. This tonight is a great foot forward for the team.
“It was a Confirmation moment, we deserved the win. Our neighbors are blindsiding us but we turn the page and start focusing on Orlando, with confidence and if the fans weren’t here today we still continue to give it our all,” said Chicharito
Adding to that victory was also Riqui Puig at the 62’ minute with the 2-0 shot on goal with lots of poise, and direction to place it in the back of the net nicely on Austin FC goalkeeper Brad Stuver the crowed cheered, ultimately LA Galaxy gave the people what they wanted the offensive side finally reveal, they celebrate the goals that had been imagined and the potential was considerably to count on, yet their position on the table.
“Tonight was the best game we have played this season, it’s good and refreshing to see all the young players,“ said Galaxy coach Greg Vanney
And to add he mentioned the new recruit on his mind will have experience speed and lots of what we need to get the team going as it adapts to wins, next weekend facing Orlando away we could possibly see some new faces going into summer.
Although Riqui Puig might be out next week for today uncalled for yellow, Galaxy will travel missing a huge aspect on the midfield but remains good in the back line, which was who won today’s match. LA Galaxy returns with great ambition to start scaling up from this point on.
“I Love that we gave a great defense and offense, today we played more together and we finally scored with a clean sheet and dominated the game, with minor mistakes but today we need to enjoy our win, it’s been an unpleasant moment but today we have 100% today. “ added Javier “Chicharito” Hernández.
