LA Galaxy and its new promising record is pleasingly a fresh start in this year’s season. Unlike before 8 minutes could have been a daunting number for last years team, but today that has all successfully changed, the team brought heart, power, delivery and a sold out stadium. Last years unfortunate defeats cost the team, roaring outraged fans and terminating contracts for others but it is now looking like a full recovery at the new LA house for 2024-2025’s MLS campaign.
The LA Galaxy down 3-2 in the 88th minute, scored the equalizing goal in stoppage time to earn a 3-3. Serbian, Dejan Joveljic opened the scoring just two minutes into the match with a left-footed finish, admiring the Galaxy’s team fluent passing. However, St. Louis CITY SC saw their way back into the game, capitalizing on a defensive errors to level 1-1 the score through Tomas Ostrak, in the 27th minute.
But then Mark Delgado released Joseph Paintsil behind the St. Louis backline and the Ghanaian international forward slotted his shot from inside the penalty area. Nilsson in 60th minute: 2-1 but suddenly enough ,Aziel Jackson’s corner-kick service was headed into the path of Joakim Nilsson, who bicycle kicked the ball into the top right corner tying things up 2-2
As the game approached its end, CITY SC took the lead from a corner kick, leaving Galaxy players frustrated with the referee’s decision due to the push in the penalty area. The crowed and players repeatedly saying the goal had been committed after obstructing the goal keeper John McCarthy, of the LA Galaxy, not allowing him to get to the ball accurately then creating an own goal and allowing St. Louis to one up the score 3-2 tragically.
However, Maya Yoshida reclaimed a point for LA with a late header from a free kick by Gastón Brugman’s into the penalty area, it was headed in by Yoshida from the edge of the six-yard box, ensuring a 3-3 even match. The game ended with drama as Martin Caceres received a red card for a tactical foul in stoppage time, 90+5th minutes. “ no, it doesn’t feel like a win, but Cáceres He’s a warrior, first and foremost, and he obviously he’s been around the block a time or two, and he’s dealing with a guy with a lot of speed and a lot of pace and a lot of power. He knew he could take no chance in the guy getting by him if we were going to end that play. So he had to sacrifice himself for it.” I’m proud of the team not letting their heads down. -Yoshida said
Galaxy head coach Vanney expressed disappointment at dropping points, emphasizing the missed opportunities to secure a victory. Joveljic echoed this sensibly, lamenting his failure to convert more chances, “I mean, I don’t really care about people that think something about me; they don’t own know how to pronounce my name. So I care what coaches think, but yes, I’m the box player, but unfortunately I didn’t show that today. I take responsibility for today’s loss, let’s say. We didn’t win one point. We lost two points today.” Added LA GALAXY Forward Dejan Joveljić
Although Dejan Joveljić disappointed performance on the night , Joveljić records shows, goal for fourth consecutive match, LA Galaxy score 4 latest goal in club history to earn come-from-behind draw against St. Louis
And are in 4th place leaving the neighbors behind to tenth place in week 3.
The team is focusing on this week’s, Sporting Kansas, now that friendly neighbor LAFC could not add to there to-do list while traveling. The Galaxy hopes to do well, while visiting their opponent this time around playing them in Kansas on Saturday night at the Children’s Mercy Park Stadium.
