LA Galaxy took on the challenge and has somehow brought back some character in the team, what used to be a good 70 minutes now is a great 90 minutes of fighting for the last ball. This Sunday St. Louis hosted at the CITYPARK stadium in Missouri.
We already know Galaxy has had a bad away losing streak this season but today the altitude, the weather, the obnoxious loud supportive St. Louis fans, or whatever the case has been in the past did not matter. The team fought and fought hard all 90+ minutes. “ we played today for our teammates, we fought today for Javier “Chicharito” Hernández “ stated Daniel Aguirre, goal scorer of today’s draw.

St Louis on the other hand who had been winning scored first in the 42nd second of the match, goal by Nicholas Gioacchini in the 67’ minute they converted an out-of-this-world chip as St. Louis City SC struck first.
Daniel Aguirre scored for the Galaxy, who were playing their first game since Hernandez was announced during the week that he would be out for the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL. Aguirre scored in the 85th minute after a slick centering pass from Douglas Acosta. The goal countered a St. Louis City score in the 68th minute on a sideways flick from Niko Gioacchini.
Galaxy’s Calegari had a pair of chances early to get his team on the scoreboard. In the third minute, he took the ball just past midfield and brought it inside the box, but his attempt rolled wide left. Five minutes later, he drove down the right side but his shot was stopped by goalkeeper Sgt. Louis City Roman Burki.
With the tie, the Galaxy (3-9-4, 13 points) have now earned points in consecutive games for the first time since three consecutive tied games from March 11-25.
“ I was proud of the guys. In two road games, in two very difficult places to play, leaguewide, we’ve taken four points out of those two very difficult road games. And, today, quite honestly, we should have played 60 minutes up a man. The fact that they had 11 guys on the field at the end of this game is comical, in my opinion, it’s not hard. We just can’t get anything like that to go for us right now. So, we had to grind and battle for everything that we get, and, tonight, the guys did it. And they stuck in it after giving up a goal.” Added coach Greg Vanney

With the tie, the Galaxy (3-9-4, 13 points) have now earned points in consecutive games for the first time since three consecutive tied games from March 11-25.
St. Louis City (9-5-2, 29 points) have one goal in their past two games (0-1-1) after scoring 10 goals in their previous three, all of which were victories. Was a bit upset after today’s draw.
Galaxy remains second to last in the league and is patiently waiting for the window to open to bring in whoever they may be thinking of, LA will face Sporting Kansas at home on Wednesday at 7:30 pm with a 47% chance of taking the win against a 9th place Sporting.
