Daly and Kristie Mewis helped the team reach the three points. Michele Vasconcelos scored for the home team (1-3).
Though it was a close game, Prince, Daly and Kristie Mewis – The Player of The Match – played a great match and did not waste the opportunities at the Children’s Mercy Park.
In the first half, Kansas City had the ball possession, but who took the chance were the visitors. With 15 minutes, Prince went to the attack from the right side and crossed to Daly. The forward scored but she was offside.
It did not take longer to reach the first goal, in fact. In the 24th minute, with a great shot from outside the box, Mewis opened the scoring with her left foot, 0-1.
Larroquette had the chance to equalise. She tried her luck, but the ball went over the crossbar.
Things got worse for the home team. In the minute 42, they conceded a penalty. The Houston Dash captain Rachel Daly converted it, 0-2.
The second half looked more hopeful for Kansas City. Logarzo, in the 55th minute, fired a powerful shot. However, she saw her shot parried away by Campbell.
The third goal came in the minute 70, when Prince found Kristie Mewis in the area to score again, 0-3.
In a better moment of the match for Kansas, Logarzo shot in the middle of the pitch but it went over the cross.
After that, in a counterattack play through the midfield, Michele Vasconcelos reduced the score to 1-3 in the minute 77.
Kansas City did not give up and kept trying to find the goal with Logarzo and Vasconcelos. However, they were unsuccessful, even with the possession of the ball.
For the next game, Kansas City will face OL Reign on May 3, and Houston Dash will play against Portland Thorns on May 2.
