The Los Angeles Galaxy lose a momentary lead and end up tying in their visit to Minnesota.
The passion and emotion was felt tremendously in the last minute draw between Minnesota United and Los Angeles Galaxy.
From a game that was fought out in the midfield with not many shots on target, but with quite a few shots on goal; to a match defined in only a matter of seconds. Greg Vanney’s team had the difficult task of visiting a Minnesota United team midweek and in search of crucial points to continue their fighting for the top positions of the western conference.
The Los Angeles Galaxy walked away from the Loons as fourth in the western conference and the draw appears to be a taste of victory with how the match played out. The movie played out very well like a James Bond movie, however it was in this case Jonathan Bond who took the spotlight. Bond kept the Galaxy alive in many occasions and prolonged his great work being the fifth best keeper of the league; having only allowed 11 goals in the 2022 MLS season.
Late in the second half referee Jair Marrufo was advised by Video Assistant Referee Carol Anne Chenard to review the potential handball and then proceed to point at the spot. It was then that Sacha Kljestan stepped up to seal the deal with only seven minutes from the end of stoppage time.
Minnesota did not put their weapons away just then and proceeded to search for another opportunity as they had throughout the match and only four minutes later Robin Lod would have the tie for the loons.
Los Angeles Galaxy reached 20 points and will wait to see the weekend’s results to know if they will continue as fourth in the west. Greg Vanney will prep his men as they head back home and wait to welcome Houston Dynamo at Dignity Health Sports Park.
