January 3, 2024 (CINCINNATI, OH) – FC Cincinnati and USMNT centerback Miles Robinson have agreed to a deal, sources told The Athletic. Sources have also confirmed about this signing to Area Sports Network, reporting a one-year contract through the 2024 season with an option for 2025.
Miles Robinson, 26, has made 150 appearances for Atlanta United, along with 27 caps for the US Men’s National Team. Regarded as one of the premier MLS Free Agent options available this winter, it was reported by Taylor Twellman that Robinson declined Atlanta United’s offer that would have kept him under the Designated Player threshold using Targeted Allocation Money (TAM). Robinson, reportedly, had interest this winter from Europe. The Athletic reports that clubs showing interest included PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Eredivisie, as well as an unnamed Premier League club.
Robinson replaced the hole left behind by centerback Yerson Mosquera, whose loan expired after the 2023 season. He has returned back to Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, and was pictured with the team in the dressing room after their 3-0 victory at home against Everton.
With the addition of Miles Robinson, FC Cincinnati’s centerback options for the 2024 season include: Matt Miazga, Miles Robinson, Nick Hagglund, Ian Murphy, Joey Akpunonu, London Aghedo, Kipp Keller, Brian Schaefer.
