FC Cincinnati have split the all-time series against Charlotte FC, with a 1-1-1 record.
Charlotte FC have drawn 9 of their last 11 matches – a line that certainly hasn’t helped their playoff push in the second half of this season. Charlotte FC’s captain Ashley Westwood has referred to this run of form as a “mental block”, as he hoped to secure a playoff spot with their remaining 5 regular season matches.
Luciano Acosta and FC Cincinnati agreed to a contract extension through the 2026 season, with an option for 2027, the club announced on Friday. Pat Noonan briefly discussed Saturday’s opponent during Friday’s press conference centered around the extension of FC Cincinnati captain Luciano Acosta. In regards to Charlotte’s play after the Leagues Cup break, Noonan remarked that “results wise, it hasn’t gone their [Charlotte FC’s] way. But if you look at the games, three of their last four, they’ve dropped leads and points late. So not only are they in games, they’ve been the better team, for me, in a lot of those games.”
