MOTM: Luciano Acosta (CIN)
It’s back to your regularly scheduled programming – Lucho Acosta doing Lucho Acosta things. This time, a goal and an assist at home to make history. Lucho completed 5 dribbles on 69 touches and was pivotal offensively for an FC Cincinnati side that was without the services of USMNT forward Brandon Vazquez.
But Wednesday was a day for the history books. Acosta helped Cincinnati get their 10th straight MLS home win to start the season, tying the 2002 San Jose Earthquakes. A win against New England next Saturday would break the record. Acosta also became the 28th player in MLS history to reach the 50-50 mark, that’s 50 goals and 50 assists in MLS.
