Ready for Argentina
The SheBelievesCup tournament concludes with the final game against Argentina. With the focus on the Olympics, we could be seeing the names that will take part in the Olympic squad. Head coach Vlatko Andonovski spoke to the media and gave his input on their rival and his general impression of these last 3 games.
A win for the record books
The USWNT continued their winning record after beating rivals Brazil in the second game of the SheBelieves Cup tournament. The game lived up to expectations and saw two teams creating dangerous chances through the 90 minutes. With this victory, the team now focuses on the final game of the tournament against Argentina. The game also marked important milestones for Christen Press and Megan Rapione, making the victory extra special.
A dominant victory
The USWNT faced Canada in their opening game of the tournament. In an unexpected result, the team was victorious by a small margin (1-0). Although, the dominance showcased by the USWNT throughout the entire game doesn’t do justice to the final scoreboard. The game saw big names like legend Carly Lloyd, Megan Rapione, and Alex Morgan to name a few. Regardless, the team has enough depth to create two-line ups if it was needed. The goal came through Rose Lavelle in the 79th minute after a set-piece rebound. The team now looks forward to the game against Brazil on Sunday.
USWNT ready for the SheBelieves Cup
The USWNT is ready to begin its participation in the SheBelievesCup alongside Argentina, Canada, and Brazil. The tournament will serve as a testing platform for many players in the squad that looks forward to the Olympics this coming summer. Head coach Vlatko Andonovski, defender Abby Dahlkemper and forward Lynn Williams spoke in a video conference ahead of their opening game against Canada tomorrow.
