The USWNT is currently in Connecticut as they prepare for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In their Send-Off Series, they will face Mexico twice at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field. Their first match against Mexico occurred Thursday, July 1st, 2021, in the heavy rain.

The USWNT continued their summer series fixtures as they faced Jamaica. Head coach Vlatko Andonovski keeps observing different systems with squad variations ahead of the complicated final roster decision. Jamaica had a complicated task ahead but facing a rival like the USWNT is enough for any team to test their abilities. However, with every game, the fact that only 18 players will be selected becomes daunting. Nobody in the actual roster deserves to be cut from the team, there's too much talent. Or at least that was the message that was sent out after the result of the match.

The Summer series signaled the final preparation stage for the USWNT ahead of the Olympic games. Texas was the stage chosen for the exhibition game against Portugal, a good fixture to welcome fans into the stadium after a year of absence.
