Pia Sundhage called up three Brazilian athletes of the NWSL for the last games before the Olympics.
Brazil, currently ranked 7th in the world, wants to keep a good job to reach better results. To accomplish that, coach Sundhage announced this Friday (21) the names that will be in the next two challenges before the Olympic Games between June 7th to 15th.
Despite the difficulties during the pandemic, the team will travel to Spain to train and play against Russia on June 11 and Canada on June 14. Among the 23 selected, there are three players of the NWSL for June FIFA Internacional Window.
One of the biggest players in the world, Orlando Pride’s Marta is one of those who lead the team with her experience and talent. Besides her, Pia also named Debinha, North Carolina Courage midfielder, who was named 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup Most Valuable Player.
And last but not least, Angelina, 21-year-old OL Reign midfielder, has been handed her first call-up for the main National Team. She has already been named before for the U20, and now she has the opportunity to show her skills in the main squad.
The Olympics starts in July and Brazil will open the games against China on July 21. In the following games they are set to take on Nederlands (24) and then Zambia (27).
