OL Reign hosted Angel City on Wednesday, May 3, at Lumen Field for the second round of the NWSL Challenge Cup.

The first half started balanced, while Angel City saw the score remain goalless after Johnson’s fine header, who was in an offside position, the Reign soon followed through with King, who sent the ball into the right post. Defensively, both teams stood firm and managed good tackles and blocks to avoid the goals.

Coach Laura Harvey decided that Bethany Balcer would play the second half, and Balcer almost got an assist. However, during the play, Isenhour could save the attempt, which could have been a beautiful goal by Olivia Athens.

Afterward, until the end, the players tried to create the best chances, but the defenders, and especially the keeper Ivory did an excellent job. Therefore, the final whistle announced the tie, distributing one point for each.

The next OL Reign challenge will be against Houston Dash, in the NWSL regular Season, on Saturday, May 6, at 10 PM ET. Meanwhile, Angel City will face Kansas City Current on Sunday, May 7, at 8 PM ET.
